Children of all ages are invited to join the Children’s Museum of Yuma County for a limited engagement at the City of Yuma Art Center (254 S. Main Street). Free for all ages! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Through August 19 – World Championship Dove Cook-Off Registration

Dove hunters, professional chefs and home cooks are invited to take part in the 1st Annual World Championship Dove Cook-Off in Yuma, Arizona on Saturday, September 3. Click over to VisitYuma.com for more information, including full rules and regulations, and to register your team. Space is limited. Entries must be received prior to August 20.

August 2 through 5 – Wine Tasting
Old Town Wine Cellar
Enjoy weekly wine tastings at the Old Town Wine Cellar in Historic Downtown Yuma. Featuring ever changing samples of six wines that are in stock and can be purchased on site. This week’s offerings are: Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium 2012 Schiefer Riesling, Martin Ray 2013 Pinot Noir, Jack’s House 2013 California Cabernet Sauvignon, Gerard Bertrand 2011 Pic Saint Loup, Markham Vineyards 2013 Cellar 1879 Blend, and La Braccesca 2012 Vino Nobile de Montepulciano. August 2-6 – Daily Tasting
Yuma’s Main Squeeze
Build your own flight of five wines from a list of ten wines available at Yuma’s only winery! Yuma’s Main Squeeze is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 pm on Tuesdays, to 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and open till midnight on Friday and Saturday. More information at YumasMainSqueeze.com.

August 5 – Summer Jazz Nights

The Summer Jazz Series events offer cool diversions on hot summer nights in America’s sunniest city. The 2016 Lutes Summer Jazz Series runs every otherFriday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lutes Casino, a popular, historic, and intriguing local eatery. More information at YumaJazz.com.

August 5 – Phosforo Live
Cocopah Wild River Family Entertainment Center
Spanish Rock band Phosforo takes to the stage at Cocopah Wild River Family Entertainment Center, Friday, August 5, starting at 10 p.m. This is a 21 and older event, with no cover charge. More information at the Cocopah Wild River Facebook page.

August 6 – Indoor Swap Meet
Yuma Civic Center
Join the City of Yuma for the last of three summer Indoor Swap Meets in the air conditioned Civic Center. The event is FREE to all shoppers this year! Doors are open to shop from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors may still purchase tickets (spring cleaners, Facebook exchange shoppers, antique collectors, jewelers, etc.) online at YumaShowTickets.com.

August 6 – OC Crew vs. Frontera United
Desert Sun Stadium
Match starts at 7:30 p.m. at Desert Sun Stadium (1280 Desert Sun Dr.) with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. General admission is $5, $10 for premium seating, FREE for kids 12 and under. More information at FronteraUnited.com.

August 6 – Sand Volleyball Tournament and Barbecue
Kennedy Park Sand Volleyball Courts
Get your team registered for the Late Night “Leapin’ Lizards” Summer Series Sand Volleyball Tournament and Barbecue. Preregistration fee is $30; $40 on-site. Event begins at 8 p.m. All teams of at least must have a minimum one one male and one female participants, ages 14 and older. August 6 – Splash Out Crime Night
Valley Aquatic Center
Come out and join 78-CRIME Stoppers for a refreshing dip in the pool at the Valley Aquatic Center from 6 p.m. to 9! There will be free swimming, a live DJ, games, prizes and fun for the whole family. Cost is only $1 per person. More information at YumaAZ.gov.

August 8 – KIDS Make Something Monday!
Dreams on Paper
Come be crafty at Dreams on Paper! Kids’ Craft sessions will be held at 261 Main Street Shoppes, Suite #12 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. This week: Color Theory – Experiments with Color and Water! More information at the Dreams on Paper Facebook page.

August 8 – Daddy-Daughter Styling Class
Lotus Day Spa
Lotus Day Spa will host their second Daddy-Daughter Styling class on Monday, August 8 from 5 p.m. to 6. There are 17 spots available.
